How to Avail Maternity Package in Cebu Doctor's University Hospital

> I gave birth to my first child last January 29, 2013 at CDUH ( Cebu Doctor's University Hospital ). I have availed their maternity package (Priviliged Mother's Service) which was  really a big help in our total hospital bill. Although during pre-natal visits, different OB-Gyne / PGI per visit will assist you but it doesn't really matter if your not that "choosy" type of person. And if you have the patience to wait for your turn, since many soon-to-be-mothers availing this privilege, so you have to be early during your scheduled visit.

So here's the guidelines in availing their Priviliged Mother's Service.

1. You should be less than 24 weeks to avail the service.

2. First visit is scheduled every Wednesday at 8:00 A.M and 1:00 P.M. (Don't be late since you have to attend a seminar).

  •   Upon enrollment you should present a Valid ID.
  •   Spouses / Boyfriend must be present during the first visit. If OFW, you   should present a certificate of employment.
  •   Bring at least 1,500 pesos for the Laboratory fees. After the seminar, the physicians will ask you to have a Papsmear test, Ultrasound(TVS) etc. on the same day.

3. You should donate one (1) unit of blood before the 24th week of pregnancy (Note: It's not you who will be donating blood of course, you can ask your boyf, hubby, relatives or anyone you know. You may call on their Blood Bank first to ask if what type of blood they will need. After donating, they will give you small piece of paper, I guess it's 1/8 size of paper, it's the certificate of blood donation, you should keep it until your admission. Blood Bank won't release a new certificate if you lose it.)

  •  If you fail to submit a certificate of blood donation on admission will be admitted as a house case (under private physician)

During each Pre-Natal care visit, a Pre-Natal Advanced Deposit (PAD) is collected. For normal delivery it's 500php or more and if Caesarian 1,000 php per visit. If during your scheduled visit, you don't have money for PAD payment, it's okay not to pay, as long as in your next visit you will pay.

The accumulated PAD's collected during the pre-natal visits will serve as part of the deposit required for the Hospital Admission with the presentation of the PAD payment receipt. (So you should keep all your receipts from first visit to last visit then).

In my case, our total bill was 21,000+php, less PhilHealth around 7,000php and our total PAD is 7000php, our remaining balance was only 7,000php. Not a burden on our purse isn't it?
